QuadraFoam Quarterly
Welcome

As Chairman and CEO of Ferris Mfg. Corp., I’d like to welcome you to the first issue of QuadraFoam® Quarterly. In future issues we will acquaint you with more of the history of PolyMem® QuadraFoam dressings and their application.
However, let’s start with telling you that here in Burr Ridge, IL we make the best wound care product in the world. My uncle, Robert Sessions, the inventor of PolyMem, wanted to create a wound care dressing that would revolutionize wound care by providing the best healing environment possible while simplifying the dressing selection process and making dressing changes painless for patients. He accomplished that with a product that remains made in the USA and never on back order. No other dressing can fill/protect, cleanse, absorb, and moisten like PolyMem QuadraFoam dressings.
To quote Bob, “Just try it, you’ll never be satisfied with another dressing after using PolyMem.”
Sincerely,
Roger Sessions, D.O., FACEP
Chairman and CEO
QuadraFoam & Skin Tears

Skin tears are the result of shear and/or friction, which causes the layers of the skin to separate from one another or the fascia, forming a traumatic open wound. They tend to be painful, can become infected and may heal slowly in compromised patients. Skin tears become more common with age for many reasons, including thinning skin, reduced elasticity and diminished natural lubrication. The use of steroids and anticoagulants also can predispose individuals to skin tears.

With its four key wound-healing capabilitiesin one formulation, PolyMem’s QuadraFoam improves skin tear outcomes by reducing the pain associated with skin tears, facilitating quicker healing and reducing the risk of infection at the skin tear site. Using PolyMem on skin tears can also provide cost savings of up to 85 percent, as it reduces both the total number of dressing changes, the dressings and supplies needed and the amount of time required to change the dressing.
